After nearly three decades as a senior sales representative at MA Lottery in Braintree, Massachusetts, David Cannistraro recently completed a program at Brook Recovery Center to address an anxiety disorder. A resident of the town of Mashpee, David Cannistraro enjoys boating in the local area.
The town of Mashpee provides boaters extensive opportunities to explore local waters, with charter companies offering vessels ranging from small fishing boats to a traditional sailing schooner known as Liberte. If you have your own boat, you can launch it at one of several places, including the Great River Boat Ramp, located off of Great Neck Road and Town Landing Road.
With renovations completed in May of 2018, the Great River Boat Ramp now boasts a double-launch site with plenty of parking in the repaved lot. This popular site supplies Mashpee's only launch site into Waquoit Bay, which attracts commercial shellfishermen, as well as leisure boaters.
Use of the Great River Boat Ramp requires a boat ramp permit. Visitors can park for free, but the sites nearer the boat launch are reserved for residents.
